"Early-risers" came out to watch the Big Green overcome the Big Red of Cornell, 24-20. It was an exciting game- especially for Nereda Gibbs (far right picture), mother of linebacker Jon Gibbs '99, who came in from Agoura Hills to cheer on her son and the whole team- a number are from the LA area. Afterwards, many stayed to take advantage of the terrific amenities of the SportsClub/LA.

OK... so you can't win 'em all. But we had fun watching them try!! Despite the cheers from a full room that included the parents of Defensive End Greg Dietrick '99, Dartmouth lost to Harvard 24-0. Nonetheless, everyone enjoyed the satellite broadcast shown on four screens, accompanied by a full breakfast. A number of people remained to take advantage of the day passes offered by SportsClub/LA, and got in a world-class workout at one of the areas best fitness centers.

Los Angeles Times drops summaries of Ivy League football

The Times Sports Section, made a decision last year to drop the Ivy League summaries from the college football coverage on Sunday, and to no longer list Ivy League games as major games in the scoreboards. As recently as 9/29 Ivy League games were on the major scoreboard, but still there were no summaries. Yet, they had summaries for the Mid America conference (Toledo, Miami of Ohio, etc). Write them a nice note at their web site...
