Matt Royer and Kerry McGuinness were married in Hershey, PA on
30 June 2001. Among classmates in attendance were Peter Lind, Mike
Scodro, Brandon Elliott and his wife, Elizabeth, Doug and Adrienne
Johnston. Matt and Kerry are living in Harrisburg, PA.
Stan Chou and Leigh Tung were married in New York, NY on 12 May
2001. They are living in Hong Kong.
Rob Mascola and Jen Kopec were married in Berkeley, CA on 2 September
2000. Among classmates in attendance were Roberta Braum, Kelly (Foley)
and Jay Stachowicz, Jeff Allen and his wife, Beth Bailey, Sean
Quinn, Scott Fisher and his wife, Kristen, Nandini Joseph and
her husband, Mathews Cherian. They continued the Dartmouth reunion on
their honeymoon in Greece, meeting up with Danae Chryssomali. Rob
and Jen are living in Oakland, CA. Danae is finishing up her law degree
in Athens.
Brandon and Elizabeth Elliottt welcomed a baby brother
for their son, Mason. Thomas Wesley Elliott was born on 16 April 2001.
The Elliotts are living in Wilmington, DE. Brandon works for Friess Associates,
an investment firm.
Mike and Tracey Scodro welcomed their son, Jack Michael
Scodro, on 13 July 2001. The Scodros live in Chicago, where Mike works
at the law firm Mayer Brown.
Scott and Kristen Fisher welcomed a baby sister for their
son, Jacob. Emily Gleason Fisher was born shortly after the new year began
on 1 January 2002. The Fishers live in Sudbury, MA.
Jeff Allen and his wife, Beth Bailey, welcomed their daughter,
Molly, in 2001. Jeff and Beth are living in Washington, DC.
Fiona Paua writes: After finishing my graduate studies at Harvard,
I am now working in Geneva with the World Economic Forum. I work on the
Global Competitiveness Programme which collaborates with Harvard in producing
the Global Competitiveness Report and other related studies.
Hans Mallalieu is recently engaged. He and his fiancée
Anne are planning a summer 2003 wedding in France (Anne's home country).
They are living in Basseterre, St. Kitts.
Peter Lind completed his pediatrics residency and is now in a
private practice in Falmouth, MA.
Katie Roberts is finishing her masters in marine biology at Northeastern
University and teaching middle school biology in Hingham, MA.
Terri Tarrant and Don Hegland welcomed their daughter, Grace,
in December 2001. Terri is completing her internal medicine residency
at Duke.
Toshi Uchida and Doug Rainey ('94) have moved to Chicago. Toshi
completed her internal medicine residency at Brigham and Women's Hospital
in Boston, and is now practicing in a clinic in Chicago.
Olaf Minge reports: Living in The Netherlands for a couple of
years to help a US marketing strategy / infrastructure company get started
in Europe. My wife and 18-month old are enjoying themselves and we get
to travel a little on the weekends. Visitors are welcome - just drop a
note!
Melanie Arad Fitzpatrick writes: I married Michael S. Arad '91
in Boston on February 24, 2001. We live in New York city where I am an
associate at the law firm Sullivan & Cromwell and Michael is an architect
at Kohn Pedersen Fox.
Michele Pauporte says: I'm living in San Francisco and loving
it - working hard and having fun. I went to Pete Keuchle's wedding
in Nantucket last June. He married an old classmate of mine from Pre-School,
Cindy. I think I knew more people at that wedding than anyone else. I
see Javier Bastidas all the time -- he's doing great as well.
Renee Kalvestrand married Georg Beckler last August in
East Troy, Wisconsin. Other '93s at the wedding included Mary Beth
Keiller, Larry Cook, Chris Morse, Ryan Pulis, Gregg Serenbetz, and
Erik Schneiderhan. Mary Beth can't keep away from the Hanover plain.
After completing her MBA at Tuck and a brief stint at Mercer Consulting,
she's returned to be the Associate Director of Admissions at Tuck. Chris
is a Professor of Chemistry at Tufts University in Boston. Ryan is a GIS
developer in Cleveland. Erik, a PhD student at the University of Wisconsin,
and his wife MP gave birth to a baby girl, Abby, shortly after the wedding.
Larry, who works in New York City as an investment banking, sees quite
a bit of Marsha Davis, Anne Tisi, and Munir Haddad.
Other 93's in NYC, Larry reports, include Raoul Posmentier, who
"spends most of his time at the Cowboy Bar on 78th and 1st if anyone
wants to visit him," and Sarah Salih, married this past November
to Dixi VonMaltzahn.
Mark Jalkut married Eloise Watson on September 15, 2001
in Durham, North Carolina. Mark and Eloise, who are both doctors in Los
Angeles, had to drive across country because of the September 11 attacks,
and arrived just in time. Bill Gussman, Matt Egol and Gregg
Serenbetz attended the wedding. Bill and Matt both work in New York
City. Bill is an attorney and Matt is a consultant.
I met up with Mike Fauerbach, Bill Gussman, Taro Aikawa, Ollie Medziradsky,
and John Sargent a few weekends ago in New York. Mike is a
finance manager at Pfizer. He and his wife Liz (Dirks)'94, have a baby
boy, Benjamin, born last June. Bill and his wife Ogi, live and work in
New York. Taro is a radiologist in Seattle Washington. Ollie has been
living in Michigan for the past few years but will soon return to North
Carolina to finish a residency program in internal medicine. John and
his wife Devon also live and work in NYC. John is a health-care consultant.
Matt Downer nearly made the trip to NYC but it was a long voyage from
London, where he is an investment banker. He and his wife Heather have
a son, Liam - almost two years old now.
Joan Andrews got married in September 2000. Elizabeth Kellogg
Wolfe and John Wolfe attended the wedding in Utah. Joan started
a job as Assistant General Counsel for the University of Utah after the
wedding. She spent her honeymoon touring the South Island of New Zealand
in a tandem bicycle with her husband Shane. Elizabeth and John live in
New Hampshire. Elizabeth is finishing a residency at Dartmouth Medical
School and John is an environmental engineer.
Phil Lee finished his law degree at University of Michigan and
now lives in Palo Alto, working as a corporate attorney. He had seen Rich
Lee, a financial trader in NYC, a few times and mentioned that James
Kwon and Charles Kwon were also attorneys in Palo Alto.
I bumped into Lauren Anderson outside of a bar in DC last week.
Lauren does sports marketing - for Adidas I believe. She lives in Oregon
and is planning on attending the reunion.
Brooke Pengel moved back to Denver after a year as a Chief Resident
in Pediatrics at the University of Connecticut Health Center in Hartford.
She's completing a fellowship in pediatrics and sports medicine.
A number of 93s met up at a happy hour sponsored by the DC Alumni Club
last fall. Jeff Adams and his wife Kirsten Prettyman '95,
live in Arlington, VA. Jeff is an environmental consultant for American
Management Systems. Kirsten is the head of the science department at a
DC secondary school. Steve Hubbard had recently moved into a house
in Reston, Virginia, where he works as a consultant. Matt Bonauito is
a consultant for Price-Waterhouse Coopers. Libby Powell is also in DC
but she missed the happy hour.
Unfortunately, we have some sad news to report. Melissa (Brown) Hurlock-Hobson
passed away on December 26th of complications from breast cancer.
An accomplished artist living in San Francisco, her work has been shown
in galleries throughout the country and published in the art and literary
journal Zyzzyva. Melissa was also featured in a recent issue of the Alumni
Magazine. She studied Aboriginal art and culture in Australia following
graduation and received an MFA in painting from the San Francisco Art
Institute in 1999. Our condolences go out to her husband, Jacob Hobson,
her family, and the many friends she made at Dartmouth and beyond.
