Herewith some comments on our role in the annual Dartmouth College Fund. First, the Fund year runs from 7/1/11 through 6/30/12. Seventy-two Classmates have contributed so far. Death and disability have cost us far too many mates-- a sad fact which will cost us dollars and, in some cases, helping hands. So, in January, we will have to do some reassignments. Our Scoring base was 408, reduced to 395 as last year unfolded. 277 gifts were made. This year, our new base is 469! How can this be? Well, the entire DCF base system was enlarged to include those who had opted out in years past. It will be difficult for us, and others, to reach our previous participation goal of 70%. With your help, we will do our level best again this year.
On that note, I wish all of you a Healthy and Happy New Year. - Don
