Leonard B. Beller, M.D. died of colon cancer on November 15, 2008, at his home in Los Angeles, CA. At Dartmouth, Lenny majored in Zoology, graduated with high honors, and was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon. He grew up in New York City and attended the Dwight School. He started medical school in Kansas City, Missouri, before receiving his medical degree from UC Irvine in Southern California. Lenny maintained the same family practice office in the Echo Park area of Los Angeles for 46 years. His passion for medicine and people was exceeded only by his devotion to his family, and he surrounded himself with volumes upon volumes of family photo albums. Lenny is survived by his wife of 51 year, Sheila, three children, Marla ( Jim) of San Gabriel, CA, Mark (Rachel) of Los Angeles, CA, and Ylana (Carmine) of New York City and eight grandchildren. |
