Our 50th Reunion Class Book

January 2003

 Happy New Year Fellow Classmates:

Preparation is underway for the publication of our 50th Reunion Class Book and your participation in making it a success, regardless of your plans to attend the reunion, is important. While the event itself may seem a long way off (June 2004), we need adequate time to meet projected production deadlines and finish the book for distribution before the reunion commences.

For those of you who contributed a write-up to the 25th reunion book, "Reflections", we suggest that you ponder what you wrote back then and send us an update, covering your life and thoughts for the past 25 years. Write in your own style and don't hesitate to express yourself on a variety of subjects, including the Dartmouth of today and your perception of what it might be tomorrow.

If you missed out having a write-up included in "Reflections", or have only been highlighted briefly in the Class newsletter, this may be your last opportunity (despite my insistence on wanting to do a 75th reunion book), to respond to a number of your classmates who may be interested in knowing something about you and and your life since graduation. Prepare whatever you think is most appropriate for you and, as a guideline, you might want to look at some of the entries in you copy of "Reflections" (if you don't have a copy, contact me for sample pages).

The following checklist will help you in providing the kind of information that will precede the write-up itself:

      - name/nickname

      -home(s) address(es) and phone number(s); email address

      -spouse (or significant other) name/nickname

-secondary school - postgraduate degrees with dates

       -other addresses, with phone/fax numbers

-children/grand/great grandchildrens' names, with ages and college/university affiliations

-inclusion of a photo (best quality informal close-ups of yourself, with spouse or  the entire family) is strictly optional, but is suggested as a means of completing         your entry. Black and white or color close-up prints work best (identify on the  back with a pencil or label). You make the selection, and let us know if we need to return the photo.

We are fortunate to be able to tap the creative graphic arts talents of our classmate, Wayne Weil, who will be responsible for all production aspects of the Book. Please note: your write-up must be submitted in one of two formats: (1) composed on a COMPUTER - Microsoft Word or similar word processing software are preferred and may be submitted via email or on a floppy disk; or, (2) TYPEWRITTEN. Hand-written entries will have to be returned. Mail optional photo with your hard copy, or separately if you send entry via email.

Mail your autobiographical information, write-up and photo to:

Wayne Weil, Dartmouth Graphics, 250 West 57th St., Suite 2631, New York, NY 10107
            or

email write-up to: wayne@dartmouthgraphics.com

            and

email copy of write-up to me at: billwhite54@comcast.net

Please feel free to contact me at any time via email above, phone (973) 379-5123, or by writing: 20 Elmwood Place, Short Hills, NJ 07078.

At the moment, our deadline is tentative. We will have a better handle on a final date later in the year, and you will be reminded periodically via Pete Barker's wonderful newsletter. Wayne will need a certain amount of time to organize the Book before submitting it to the printer later in the year, and finished copies will be available some time prior to the reunion itself.

Please, however, don't procrastinate. The more people included, the better the finished product. Thanks, in advance, for your participation - we look forward to working with you in producing a fitting and lasting memento of the occasion.
