HERE'S THE STRAIGHT STORY!

We absolutely need every classmate who gave "Last Year BUt Not This" ( Lybunt ) to contribute and to give at or ABOVE their recent non-reunion years level. We are really in a horse race but to win we NEED A STRONG FINISH. Lybunts, by definition, gave last year but not this so we know they are active and participating donors. We should not lose one of them. I have also sent e-mails and where necessary snail mail letters asking classmates who have been holding back  for a number of years to join the ranks of '54 donors once again. WE have picked some up and any more of these guys joining in will really help secure our participation objective.

Here is the info to date:

1) Our participation to date is the best in the College @ 71%. Great work but there is no Green Derby points unless we beat 84% and then we get credit for setting a new '54 NRY(non-reunion year) record and setting a new "Years OUT"  College record (breaking 1952s standing record). Our own class goal was to meet our 55th reunion level set last year at 86%.  This we can do if we get the Lybunts and any holdouts would be gravy.

2) Here's what I see regarding our dollar goals. We have a total of cash and pledges including some not yet posted by the college of $242,441 which is well past out $215,000 goal . We then can add the $44,297 raised to date by STRS, making our total $286,738.

I would love to see us move up the ladder in the Green Derby competition and even win it for our class group. Here's my outlook:

We need to get this $10,000 from former holdouts, from new STRS  participants and from any increase in pledges from Lybunts over past Non-Reunion average. Last but certainly not least would be to go back to some of our most generous classmates and ask for a little more. Twenty classmates kicking in $500 more would do the trick.

After all the work done by you guys we might as well close this 2010 campaign in a blaze of glory. Thanks as always for your help.
