The ‘54 Midwest Mini Reunion, hosted by Carol and STEVE MULLINS and Kay and TOM TYLER was held in September in Chicago. In attendance were: Jean and BOB ADNOPOZ, Sheila and DON BELCHER, Barbara and DON BERLIN, Ann and LUKE CASE, Carol and RIP COFFIN, Virginia and BOB COLLIMORE, Martha and JAY DAVIS, Kit and BOB DEAN, Kathy and STEVE FAST, Marilyn and DICK GRASSEY, Mary and ALEC GRAY, Liz and TOM KELSEY, Mary and NED MAY, Donna and JOE MIGLEY, Rosemarie and BILL MURANE, Debby and HUGH NOLIN, Patty and BOB OSMOND, Jane and DICK PAGE and Carol and HARRY ROBINSON. The group enjoyed a Lake Michigan Dinner Cruise, a tour of the North Shore (including the American Toby Jug Museum), dinner at the Mullins in Evanston, a visit to the Frank Lloyd Wright Studio and the Hemmingway Museum and Home in Oak Park, cocktails at the Tyler's Indian Lake house, cocktails and a cookout at the Mullins' beach house overlooking Lake Michigan and an architectural boat ride on the Chicago River. Any of our far west classmates want to host a mini reunion?

News of ‘54 children: PETE GEITHNER'S son, Timothy ‘83, was appointed president and chief executive of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. According to New York Times he will be "a crucial player in the formulation of interest rate policy in the United States and a point man for crisis management for domestic and international financial systems." DON BERLIN'S son, Eric ‘89 ran the Chicago Marathon in 2:38. Is that a class record for classmates and children? Eric practices law as a partner at Jones, Day in Chicago. Since classmate news is thin, let's hear about our children!

As you read this column we will be six months from our 50th Reunion. If you have not sent your bios to BILL WHITE or WAYNE WEIL, please do so.

The Fifth Annual ‘54 Golf Classic will be held at the Plantation Inn and Golf Resort in Crystal River, Florida from February 22 to February 26, 2004. Join us. For further info contact either JIM TOFIAS at jimtofias@charter.net or your secretary.
